Check the environment before taking on the work

An equipment list is a useful start, but we also need to understand the connections, management accounts, licences and support arrangements. Existing diagrams should match the network that is actually running.

We identify inherited faults and gaps in access before agreeing responsibility. Equipment controlled by a landlord, carrier or another supplier may need a separate route for investigation and changes. Your organisation should understand which accounts it owns and which permissions Proxar needs.

Give the everyday jobs a clear home

Configuration requests, fault investigation and licence administration need someone responsible for them. We agree the sites, devices and platforms covered, together with any monitoring, maintenance and reporting included.

A routine access change is not the same job as redesigning a site or replacing its equipment. The agreement needs to distinguish normal administration from larger work requiring a separate plan and price. That keeps a request from becoming an unexpected project for either team.

Keep two teams from making one another’s work harder

A network change can affect printers, voice services or an external application as well as the connection being discussed. Check the dependencies and record the intended result before significant work, then verify the services affected.

When your team and Proxar both have administrative access, useful change records matter. Each side should be able to see what happened without reconstructing it from a fault afterwards. The same records support future handovers and the removal of access when responsibilities change.

Equipment ownership remains a separate decision. For an arrangement in which Proxar supplies and owns the covered network equipment, see managed network. This service concerns the management work agreed around an environment, not an automatic transfer of your assets.

Before you decide

Your questions, answered

Does Proxar take ownership of our equipment?

Not simply because we manage it. Equipment ownership is recorded in the agreement and is separate from permission to administer the network. The Proxar-owned managed network solution is a different arrangement. We will make clear which model you are considering before discussing replacement and exit responsibilities.

Can our network engineer keep working on the environment?

Yes. A shared arrangement can divide administration, approvals and escalation between your team and Proxar. Both need a reliable record of changes and a way to coordinate overlapping work. That helps prevent one team unknowingly undoing a change or investigating an issue the other has already explained.

Does management include licences and vendor support?

The responsibilities need to be stated, including who purchases or renews licences and who can open vendor cases. Technical management does not automatically mean every subscription or support entitlement is supplied by Proxar. We review the existing position so a renewal or escalation does not fall between teams.

Are new sites covered by the normal monthly work?

A site rollout may involve design, equipment and installation beyond recurring administration. The service agreement should explain how such work is proposed and approved. Once a new site is accepted into management, its records, devices and responsibilities need to be added to the supported environment.
