Cloud migration services

A cloud move is finished when your people can use the service, not when the files have transferred. We help plan the dependencies, changeover and checks that get you from the current environment to a working destination.

Work out what needs to move together

A server list does not tell the whole story. Applications may rely on identity services, DNS, certificates, shared storage, scheduled tasks and external connections. We look at those relationships before dividing the work into stages.

Versions, licensing, data volumes, bandwidth and administrative access also affect the plan. Finding a dependency early gives you time to resolve it before committing to a date. Finding it during cutover puts the business and the migration team under unnecessary pressure.

Agree how you will know the move worked

Prepare the destination’s connectivity, permissions and agreed protection before bringing the workload across. A representative pilot can test the application and important staff tasks while there is still room to adjust the plan.

Each stage needs a method, an expected interruption window and named people to accept the result. The cutover plan should explain communications, the decision to proceed and what happens if checks fail. Aftercare and unfinished actions belong in the plan too.

A way back needs to account for new data

Rollback is more complicated once users have made changes in the new environment. Returning traffic to the old system can leave those changes behind unless the plan accounts for them. We work through that issue before cutover, including any period when writes must be paused.

After the move, check access, integrations and the workflows that matter to the business. The original environment should be retired only after acceptance and the agreed retention requirements have been considered.

The operating handover also needs owners for support and monitoring. Cloud management covers customer-held infrastructure; managed cloud combines supplied hosting and agreed management. Those are choices to make before the project team hands the service over.

Before you decide

Your questions, answered

Can we migrate without any downtime?

It depends on the workload and migration method. Some moves need a final synchronisation or a period when changes are paused. We assess interruption windows and continuity options during planning rather than promise zero downtime before understanding the application, data and dependencies.

Can you work alongside our internal IT team?

Yes. We can divide discovery, preparation, delivery and acceptance between your team, Proxar and other suppliers. The important point is to identify who approves cutover, who checks the business workflows and who owns any unresolved actions. Shared work needs a single understood plan.

What happens if the new environment does not pass testing?

The plan needs acceptance criteria and a clear decision route before the move begins. Depending on the stage and issue, the answer may be further investigation, a pause or a return to the previous arrangement. Any rollback must account for data changed after cutover, not merely switch users back.

When can the old servers or hosting be retired?

Only after the agreed acceptance and retention requirements are satisfied. Successful transfer alone does not prove the complete business service works. Check important integrations and recovery responsibilities, and make sure the support team has the access and records it needs before removing the source environment.

Your next step

What needs to move, and what must keep working?

Tell us about the workloads, your intended destination and any fixed deadlines. We will help you work through the dependencies and acceptance checks before turning a target date into a migration plan.
