Start with what needs to run
A cloud proposal should begin with your applications, not a server size. We look at compatibility, how many people use the system and what it connects to. An application that exchanges data with an office server needs those connections considered as part of the design.
Today’s demand is only part of the picture. Expected growth, sign-in arrangements and support from the software supplier affect both the hosting environment and the work needed to run it. Knowing those dependencies early makes the proposal more useful than a simple list of resources.
Know who looks after each part
The service brings hosting and agreed management together. Your proposal should explain which systems are covered and who handles administration, maintenance, monitoring and incidents. It should be just as clear about work that stays with you.
Looking after the infrastructure does not automatically mean changing the business application or taking over the software publisher’s role. We agree how the teams will work together when a problem crosses that boundary, so an available server is not mistaken for a fully working business service.

Recovery belongs in the first conversation
How long could your business work without the application? How much recent data could it afford to lose? Those answers shape the protection and recovery arrangements rather than being left until something goes wrong.
We also discuss how changes will be handled. More staff, growing storage or a new application can affect capacity and charges. A clear approval process gives you the chance to understand those effects before a change is made, and to review whether the service still matches the way you work.
Moving the application is its own piece of work

Is managed cloud the same as cloud management?
Not on this site. Managed cloud combines hosting supplied by Proxar with agreed management. Cloud management is work on infrastructure your organisation already holds. The difference helps you compare who supplies the resources, who pays the platform charges and what day-to-day work is included.
Does it include support for every application?
No blanket assumption should be made. We identify the infrastructure and operational work included, plus any application-level tasks. A software publisher or your own team may still own the application. The proposal should explain how an incident moves between those teams when their help is needed.
Are backup and recovery automatically included?
The protection and recovery arrangements must be stated in the proposal. Hosting, backup and restoring an application are different responsibilities. We discuss the services you need back first, tolerable interruption and data loss, then agree the measures and testing that form part of your service.
What happens when we need more capacity?
We review the demand and the application dependencies rather than assuming more resources are always the answer. Any proposed change should explain its operational and cost implications. The service agreement sets out how you request, approve and review changes as your business grows.
